The idea to turn a small dream into something real — to launch a little business rooted in passion, comfort, and creativity. We wanted more than just a side project. We wanted to turn a personal hobby into something meaningful, something that others could enjoy too.

And it started with a challenge: what to do with the old uthus.

That simple question sparked a journey. Instead of tearing it down, we saw potential. We imagined a space where travelers could feel at ease, rest well, and enjoy a quiet corner of Norway without compromising on comfort or convenience.

So Chalet Orkanger was born — not as a big hotel, not as a corporate rental, but as a carefully designed place made for people who appreciate quality, calm, and a touch of home while away from home.

What inspired us most was the thought of giving guests something more than just a place to sleep. We wanted to offer peace. A private terrace to enjoy a morning coffee. A base for exploring both nature and town. A place where it’s easy to arrive, easy to relax, and easy to remember.
